Donating breastmilk
Q: I am currently breast feeding my son and I have a daughter as well. I have been blessed with a great milk supply alhamdullilah. I want to know what the ruling is on donating Breast milk and milk siblings, I will not know who my Breast milk will be going to. Keeping in mind my children will get married one day insha Allah?
A: We advise you not to donate your breast milk to any organisation, etc as this may lead to confusion later on. However there is no problem in you breastfeeding children who you are able to keep a record of.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
وَالْوَالِدَاتُ يُرْضِعْنَ أَوْلَادَهُنَّ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ لِمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يُتِمَّ الرَّضَاعَةَ وَعَلَى الْمَوْلُودِ لَهُ رِزْقُهُنَّ وَكِسْوَتُهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَا تُضَارَّ وَالِدَةٌ بِوَلَدِهَا وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ لَّهُ بِوَلَدِهِ وَعَلَى الْوَارِثِ مِثْلُ ذَٰلِكَ فَإِنْ أَرَادَا فِصَالًا عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنْهُمَا وَتَشَاوُرٍ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا وَإِنْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن تَسْتَرْضِعُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذَا سَلَّمْتُم مَّا آتَيْتُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّـهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّـهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ﴿البقرة: ٢٣٣﴾
قليل الرضاع وكثيره إذا حصل في مدة الرضاع تعلق به التحريم كذا في الهداية قال في الينابيع والقليل مفسر بما يعلم أنه وصل إلى الجوف (الفتاوى الهندية 1/216)
