Practice of keeping the hair of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and reciting salaat and salaam

Q: I would like to know if Baal Mubarak (practice of keep the hair of Nabi [sallallahu alaihi wasallam]) is valid and if the practice of reading salaami is permissible?

A: There is no sunnat practice recorded in the hadeeth. Being the mubaarak baal of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) it should be respected. And together with respect, understand what will please Hadhrat Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). That which will please him most is emulating his sunnat and his mubaarak teachings at all times.

Every Muslim must recite salawaat and salaam upon Hadhrat Rasul-e-Paak (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Hadhrat Moulana Gangohi (rahmatullahi alaih) would say that at least 300 salaat and salaam (durood shareef) must be read everyday. Further, without the salawaat and salaam the namaaz is not complete. After all, it is the command of Allah Ta`ala to recite salawaat and salaam (durood shareef) upon Hadhrat Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
