Method of taking bay'at to a Shaikh for a girl
Q: I would like to know what is the best method to go about taking bay'at to a shaikh for a girl thats not married and also would like to know the manner in which how bay'at works.
A: It is permissible for women to enter into bay'at. The person who one wishes to enter into bay'at should possess the following qualities.
1) He should be a pious and righteous person.
2) He should be committed to following the commands of Shariah and refrain from sins.
3) He should adhere to the Mubaarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in all facets of his life.
4) He should be a person who is disinclined from the world and inclined towards the Aakhirat.
5) He should be a person who possesses correct knowledge and sound understanding of Deen and has received khilaafat from his Shaikh.
A woman may refer to such a person for guidance in Deeni and worldly matters.
It is important for women to communicate to the Shaikh via her husband or any mahram.
