Q: Our maid servant collected money from different people for her son’s marriage. Some people gave her zakat money and some gave her interest amount and some gave donations. Now she has invited us for her son's walima. Is it permissible to eat the food of the walima?
A: Yes, it is permissible for you to accept her invitation. The food she will feed will not be regarded as zakaat.
