Sajdah tilaawat after writing an Ayat of sajdah

Q: Recently I was copying from a book the fourteen locations of Sijdah at Tilawah. Please advise whether I must do Sijdah Tilawat when I am writing an Ayat of Sijdah.

A: The Sajdah-e-tilaawat is not wajib.

( لا ) تجب ( بسماعه من الصدى والطير ) ومن كل تال حرفا ولا بالتهجي أشباه (الدر المختار 2/109)

قال العلامة ابن عابدين - رحمه الله -: قوله ( ولا بالتهجي ) لأنه لا يقال قرأ القرآن وإنما قرأ الهجاء ولو فعل ذلك في الصلاة لم يقطع لأنها الحروف التي في القرآن ولا تنوب عن القراءة لأنه لم يقرأ القرآن إمداد عن التجنيس والخانية ولا تجب بالكتابة (رد المحتار 2/109)
